“Heads up to the area,” Katie emails.
At around 1:30 a.m. between three and four gunshots were heard by several neighbors on Northeast 92nd Street between Eighth and Fifth avenues northeast, followed by the sound of car tires peeling out.
“This morning I saw that my neighbor’s car had a bullet hole in the back seat.”
One shot clearly broke the back window of this Subaru Forester before embedding in the right rear seat.

Two neighbors have emailed they thought they heard shots very early this morning.
One reports this from shortly after midnight: “Did anyone hear two loud bangs or gun shots, followed by sirens last night? Around Northeast 95th Street and First Avenue Northeast.”
The other report:
Last night, maybe at 12:15 a.m. I was drifting off to sleep (we live about halfway down on Northeast 94th Street off of Fifth Avenue Northeast where it dead-ends) and heard what sounded for all the world like a shotgun going off. After a short pause, another blast.
About five seconds later, a car peeling out, and that sounded a couple blocks away. After about three minutes, police sirens. Any idea what may have happened in our hood?
Not so far. Neither the police reports map nor the police and fire incident report map show any activity.
However, the real-time 911 website shows 16 fire units dispatched to First Avenue Northeast and N.E 94th about a quarter past midnight for a fire in a building.

We have two separate reports of gunfire in the neighborhood early this morning.
Michael emails: “Anyone else hear what sounded more like 8-9 gunshots and not fireworks at 1:41 a.m. last night?
“We live on Northeast 97th Street near 15th Avenue Northeast. It was so loud and scary we hit the deck!
“Sirens were a few minutes later (according to my wife).”
And Tim emails:
I live on Northeast 90th Street and 12th Avenue Northeast and last night around 1:45 a.m. (my 9-month-old was up) I heard about 10 gunshots to the south. I called the police and they said they had quite a few calls with the same report. Have you heard anything else about this? I haven’t been able to find anything in the news about it.
We have a call in to the police PIO.
Officers responded to a “shots fired” call in the area of 14th Avenue Northeast Northeast 120 Street near Pinehurst playfield. No persons or property were struck by the bullets. Several spent casings of two different calibers were recovered as evidence. None of the participants in the shooting were around when police arrived.

Update April 10: A different neighbor emails :
Thought I’d let the blog folks know our home on 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 97th Street was burglarized during the daytime hours on Tuesday, 4/9. The usual mode was used – the thieves kicked out a back entrance door window. They ransacked the house and stole jewelry and electronics.
Thank you to the SPD officers who responded and made the report
Early this morning a neighbor emailed:
Any idea what the gun shots were about, at 5:22 this morning? Three rang out, sounding like they were near the bridge on 15th. We called it in, as did others, according to 911. Thanks.
We don’t exactly know what that was, and neither does the Seattle Police Department.
The police incident map shows a “noise disturbance” at 5:41 a.m. at 12th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 112th Street, near the area in question, which would be 15th Avenue Northeast at about Northeast 104th Street.
A police spokesman said that report did come in as “shots fired,” but that officers were unable to pinpoint the source.
The incident map also shows a “trespass” at 5:40 a.m. at Roosevelt Way Northeast and Northeast Northgate Way and an accident investigation at Roosevelt and Northeast 112th Street at 3:50 a.m.
There was also a DUI arrest made overnight at 15th and Northeast 91st Street. It involved a collision between two cars about 9:10 p.m. No one was injured, the spokesman said, but the driver of one car was taken into custody on suspicion of intoxication.
We also heard, on Friday, from another neighbor that a package had been stolen, and a neighbor’s car apparently broken into but nothing stolen, at Roosevelt and Northeast 102nd Street.
A look at the police report map since our last post shows three cars prowled in the neighborhood and six vehicles stolen. It also shows one additional home burglary, on April 2nd in the 900 block of Northeast 92nd Street.
