A Subaru full of bears on their way to Holiday Helpers.

Looking for a way to help others in your own community this holiday season?

Children’s Home Society, the oldest nonprofit serving children in the state of Washington, is looking for donors to become “Holiday Helpers” for local low-income families served by its North Seattle Family Resource Center in Lake City.

“Holiday Helpers” can adopt a family and buy gifts from a child’s wish list, buy a grocery gift card or make a cash donation.

This is the center’s 20th year of helping local families with the holidays, and it hopes to find sponsors for 250 children who live in North Seattle and Shoreline, including in the 98115 and 98125 zip codes.

This year the center is partnering with Meadowbrook Community CARE and its Lake City Holiday Project, which works with nonprofits to provide gifts to low-income children.

For more details email HolidayHelper@chs-wa.org, or call 206-364-7930.

  1. Yes, that is another way to help. Children’s Home Society is partnering with Meadowbrook Community Care’s Lake City Holiday Project, which puts up giving trees on behalf of its partner organizations.
