Some cheer on a rainy fall day

September 23rd, 2010 · 1 Comment

Thank you, Denise and Kevin, for cheering up our worst summer ever.

Earlier today we posted on the depressing state of practically everybody’s tomato crop this year in the neighborhood, and asked for photos of successful tomatoes to cheer us up.

Denise and Kevin already responded. (That’s Kevin’s photo, from our Facebook page, on the right.)

“I am so excited that at least some of the Brandywine have ripened.  There are probably 5 or 6 lbs of green ones on this plant.”

On our earlier post Denise commented:

My Brandywine plant is the most spectacular experience I’ve had with tomatoes and it looks like I will get 3 giant ripe ones before the weather kills the plant.

“Red cherry that are sooo sweet.”

“A few more Brandywine.”

Denise lives by the QFC on Northeast Northgate Way, and gardens on a little plot that faces southwest and is right up against her house. Still, “I sure hope the weather next year is better,” she says.
