Update: The FBI this morning said the woman who robbed the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union Wednesday night is the so-called “F-bomb Bandit,” a nickname she earned for the salty language in the notes she hands bank tellers.

This is the fifth robbery she’s believed to have committed in just a few weeks. There is no report of a weapon being seen here. The FBI is offering $1,000 for information leading to her arrest. Contact Det. Leonard Carver at (206)622-0460 or leonard.carver@seattle.gov

Here’s a previous story and photo from MyNorthwest.com.

A credit union off Northgate Way was robbed Wednesday night just before 6:30 p.m. Dozens of police cars blanketed the area, but the lone robber escaped.

Seattle police said they were called at 6:28 p.m. to the credit union at Roosevelt Way Northeast and Northeast 111th Street. There is an Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in the QFC Supermarket at that intersection that remains open until 7 p.m. on weeknights.

Detective Mark Jamieson described the suspect as a black woman in her 20s, about 5-foot-4 and of medium build, wearing a tan hat and a purple-brown jacket. She may have escaped by car, Jamieson said.

No further details were immediately available. We have a call in to the FBI, which investigates robberies at financial institutions.

The robbery was reported in seattlecrime.com, which has a brief description here.

Both the Maple Leaf Pharmacy and Reckless Video in Maple Leaf were robbed late last year by a man who police said wanted drugs.
