Update March 6, 7 a.m: Light snow overnight, more snow likely before 10 a.m. Accumulations up to 1 inch, according to the weather service.
Tonight’s National Weather Service forecast discussion takes the snow level below 500 feet, and that means Maple Leaf.
It’s the fifth sixth day out of the last seven eight that snow has fallen here (updated 5/6) on Mount Maple Leaf (thanks, Alyssa, for the nickname). We have two snow-related things going for us – we stick up some 460 feet above sea level AND we’re close to the Puget Sound Convergence Zone.
From the forecast discussion:
A COLD UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL MOVE OVER THE AREA TONIGHT WITH THE SNOW LEVEL FALLING BELOW 500 FEET. LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE LOWLANDS ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE PUGET SOUND CONVERGENCE ZONE.
THE PSCZ IS LOCATED OVER SOUTHERN SNOHOMISH COUNTY AND SHOULD DRIFT FARTHER SOUTH /INTO KING CO/ THEN FIZZLE OUT. SPOTTERS REPORTED LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS SO FAR /UNDER 1 INCH/ BUT THE BAND IS FAIRLY NARROW.

The rest of the week? Sun!
No, it doesn’t.
Princess Angeline was Chief Seattle’s’s daughter, and as our city already has one hill named for royalty who had no connection whatsoever with the region, naming our tall spot on the map for a woman who was local royalty is only appropriate. I’d love to be living on Princess Angeline Hill.
Does our “hill” have a name?
