Start off the New Year with Skillet, more street food

Now that the holidays are behind us, the street food vendors are back in the neighborhood, with visits scheduled from Got Soup? on Tuesday, Hot Cakes Confections on Thursday and Skillet on Friday.

The mobile food vendors will be parked just south of Thornton Place at the Washington Dental Building, 9706 Fourth Ave., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the exception of Hot Cakes Confections, which will serve its gourmet street treats from noon to 2 p.m. Also on the menu this week from Hot Cakes are Savory Pocket Pies as well as Apple and Cherry Pocket Pies.

Meanwhile, Got Soup? is serving:

  • Cassoulet: Onion, carrot, celery, tomatoes, garlic, cannellini beans, pork shoulder, garlic sausage, white wine, chicken stock, bay leaves, parsley and thyme.
  • Jambalaya (Vegan): Onions, celery, carrot, green pepper, garlic, bay leaf, parsley, oregano, thyme, cayenne, vegetable stock, tomatoes, kidney beans and brown rice.
  • Northwest Chowder: Celery, onion, leeks, red pepper, potatoes, flour, fish/clam stock, parsley, chervil, chive, thyme, salmon, clams, peppercorns, butter and milk.
  • Sunchoke Bisque with Quinoa (Vegan): Olive oil, shallot, garlic, onion, fennel, sunchokes, quinoa, Yukon potatoes, parsley, lemon, red pepper flakes, tarragon, thyme, parsley, pepper, vegetable stock, rice milk.

And with Skillet’s return, we have:

  • The Burger
  • Pasilla Chile Mac ‘n’ cheese
  • Lemongrass Pork Sammy
  • Potato Soup with Bacon Jam Dollop
  • Mini Apple Pies and Creme Fraiche
