The power is back on at Northgate Mall and much of the surrounding area after an outage was reported about noon, according to Seattle City Light.

About 3,000 homes and businesses were affected after a tree fell into power lines near Eighth Avenue Northeast and North 124th Street.

The outage was roughly from Northeast 126th Street on the north to North 100th Street on the south, and from Fremont Avenue North on the west to 14th Avenue Northeast on the east, and it affected about 90 percent of the businesses at Northgate Mall.

As of 12:45 p.m. about 45 customers remained without power, and City Light was unable to provide an estimate for when power would be restored.
