The city’s new online site for police reports is adding more details, but it’s taking days for them to show up.
An example: On Tuesday, July 20, we wrote about a robbery that occurred very early the previous morning in the 9400 block of Roosevelt Way Northeast. The police report then simply announced a “robbery-street-bodyforce” at about 1 a.m. That’s all the information then available.
Today, though, the rest of the police report is available, including a narrative from the investigating officer, who says the victim reported he was walking home along Roosevelt from a friend’s home at 89th Avenue Northeast.
“A red four-door hatchback, possibly a Honda, pulled in front of him cutting him off,” the report states. Three unknown men jumped out of the car, “ran to him, beat him with their fists, and stole his IPod headphones,” the report states.
