Customers at Maple Leaf Ace Hardware have put coins and cash worth more than $150 in the “tips” jar for Seattle  Children’s Hospital over the last four months, says Mike Kelley, co-owner of the store.

Kelley is no stranger to raising money for Children’s. Last October, you may remember, he undertook an 850-mile bike journey over 10 days, ending in Atlanta, and got Ace customers to sponsor the ride.

Kelley raised $11,000 for the hospital  that time. “All from Ace customers,” including the store matching customer contributions.
