This is a little too close for comfort.

At 7:43 p.m. yesterday, a man was stabbed when he tried to stop two people who allegedly were trying to break into his car near the corner of Northeast 77th Street and 16th Avenue Northeast in Ravenna.

The victim, in his 40s, was attacked by the men and stabbed twice in his lower torso and has suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The suspects escaped in a Ford Explorer that was described as either gray, light blue or green, and they remain at large. They were described as white males with long hair.

The SPD asks anyone with information about the crime to call 911 or Seattle Police immediately.
