Thornton Place kicked off the summer festival in June with the Latin-inspired “Side of Salsa,” and is following it up this week with a jazz trio complemented by dance lessons from Century Ballroom, which will be offering an East Coast swing lesson.

Starting today, the Crisp Creperie food truck will begin weekly Thursday visits at Washington Dental Service/Delta Dental at 9706 Fourth Ave. N.E., just south of Thornton Place.
They’re making it worth your while to give them a try today, with an offer to receive $2 off any savory crepe and $1 off any sweet crepe if you mention the code “Delta.” A little about Crisp Creperie:

Their specialty is the Mexican torta. It can be described as a sandwich or sub in a special Mexican bread with unique and rich ingredients that make the torta a delightful traditional dish from Mexico.

If you’re in the Maple Leaf neighborhood at lunchtime today, forget about the gray weather and stop by the Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream truck, which is scheduled to be parked from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Washington Dental Service building, 9706 Fourth Ave.
Seasonal flavors will include Thai Tea Ice Cream and Strawberry Rhubarb Sorbet.
And you can end the week with a burger (or a grilled sandwich or maybe even a brat — check out the menu) from Charlie’s Buns ‘N Stuff, which also will be parked just south of Thornton Place, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. UPDATE: Charlie’s Buns ‘N Stuff has canceled its Friday stop in the neighborhood, but plans to instead be here Monday for lunch.

With snow in the forecast, there’s no guarantee these street food vendors will stop by the neighborhood this week, but we’ll still let you know who’s planning on joining us for lunch just in case.

Got Soup? returns on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., offering Chicken with Wild Rice and Portobello; Curried Cauliflower; Celery Root with Shiitake and Cabbage; and Vegetable Pistou with Mussels.

Did you miss your chance today to check out new street food vendor Lumpia World?
They’ll be back Friday from 11 a.m. to 2p.m., filling the void after Hot Cakes Confections announced earlier this week that it was canceling its weekly appearance at the Washington Dental Building, just south of Thornton Place at 9706 Fourth Ave.
Starting next week, Lumpia World plans to return to the business district Thursdays for lunch.

We’re mixing up the menu this week for lunchtime mobile food vendors at the Washington Dental Building, 9706 Fourth Ave.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Got Soup? returns with Shrimp Etouffee; Jerk Chicken with Black-Eyed Peas and Greens; vegetarian Turnip and Gruyere; and vegan Garden Pea with Mint and Tarragon among this week’s soups.
Also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. are Fusion on the Run on Wednesday, followed on Thursday by the new street food vendor Lumpia World, which takes its name seriously, offering lumpia – oriental pastries similar to spring rolls – filled with ground steak, ginger pork, lemon grass chicken, “Turon” plantain banana and more, in addition to soba noodle soups with tofu, baked seasoned chicken breast, Spam or crab.
UPDATE 1/26: Hot Cakes has canceled, but might return in the spring. And you can end the week with gourmet dessert from Hot Cakes Confections, which will be in the neighborhood from noon to 2 p.m. Friday.
