One dog lost, one dog found

November 28th, 2016 by Mike

Update: Same dog, home now.

Karri emails this morning:

“‘Hercules’ ran out of the house this morning from 9212 8th Ave. N.E. He has a serious medical condition and needs medication twice a day.

If you see him, he likely will come for food and any food is OK to feed him.

Please call Dave at 206 854 3052 if you see or have him. Thank you!

And over at Nextdoor Northgate/Maple Leaf Sarah writes:

“While walking my own dog this morning, I found a tagless shivering pom/chihuahua mix (I think) running in the street at Northeast  94th Street and Eighth Avenue Northeast.

“I took him to the local vet and they found no microchip. I’ve posted on craigslist, knocked on doors, and walked around near where I found him. Anyone know this doggy?”

September 3rd, 2015 by Mike

Wabbit is home.

Andrea emails overnight:

“A black floppy- eared bunny was found on Northeast 80th between Fourth and Fifth avenues northeast

“It is extremely friendly and allowed me to pick it up and bring it in the house so it does not get hit by a car.

Found: A red bike, a yellow scooter and a black cat

August 12th, 2015 by Mike

Cindy posts on our Facebook page: “There has been a red Univega bike abandoned on the corner of North 87th Street and Meridian Avenue North for over a week. It is wearing its lock. I hope the owner sees this!”

Terry emails (to the Nextdoor Northgate/Maple Leaf group):

A yellow-and-black Strada Veriflex scooter has been setting, abandoned after probably having been stolen, on the walkway to an office building at 10202 5th Ave. N.E. (site for an engineering firm and a children’s dental facility). It has been there since Monday, August 10th.

I called the Seattle Police non-emergency phone number, to see if some officers could be dispatched to hold it at the North Precinct station; but gave up after being on hold for 10 minutes; might try again, later.

If this is your scooter, or you know whose it is, likely it will still be there, this evening (this post written at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th).

And Patty emails:

“We’ve had this kitty hanging around our neighborhood for the last few weeks. No tags. Small and very friendly. Have asked a few neighbors but none appear to be owners.

“I haven’t seen any missing cat posts or posters around. Near Northeast 94th Street and 20th Avenue Northeast.”

A second cat found

May 27th, 2015 by Mike

Chelsea emails:

Found near Northeast 86th Street and Ravenna Avenue Northeast – male cat, short hair, all black.

He’s been in our neighborhood for at least three-four weeks but only just approached us this past weekend and hasn’t wanted to leave since. He took up residence on our porch Saturday morning and has hardly left.

Seems like he’s been out on his own for a while – is very bony and hungry and has some cuts on his ears and scars.

Contact: Chelsea at (cell) 785-550-5317 or chelseadyates@gmail.com

Do you know this cat (hanging on 12th NE)?

August 17th, 2014 by Mike

Neighbors along 12th Avenue Northeast report this long-haired gray cat has been entering their houses and sleeping in their yards for the past couple of weeks.

The cat is fluffy, friendly and appears well-fed but they’re worried that it may be lost because it isn’t known to the immediate neighbors.

It is wearing a bell but doesn’t have a tag. The cat has been seen on 12th Ave. between Northeast 89th and 91st streets.

Please comment here if you know this kitty and we’ll pass it along.

And now we have a found chicken

September 10th, 2013 by Mike

Ester emails:”I found a stray chicken and have it in my spare coop at the south side of my house: 9609 8th Ave. N.E.

Please come by and take it if it is yours. Please do not take any chickens from my front yard. They are a flock of seven and I’d like to keep them.

I’d try to integrate the stray to my flock if nobody picks up the stray, but my chickens may peck it too much as it is an outsider. Thanks!

Found black dog in Maple Leaf near N.E. 75th St.

April 1st, 2012 by Mike

Update 5:15 p.m.

Mystery solved! After a big adventure criss-crossing the neighborhood without luck, we took our new friend to Access, the emergency vet on Lake City Way. The nice lady there scanned his chip for us. “Ralph,” who apparently took advantage of a gate blown open by this morning’s wind gusts, is back home with his family in the north end of Roosevelt.

Laura writes:

Anyone know this friendly, very active pooch? A neighbor found him/her loose near Northeast 75th Street and Lake City Way Northeast. Has collar but no tags.
