Update: “Thanks so much! Update, I was able to get in touch with the dog’s owner.”
Nicole emails this morning:
“I wanted to write and let you know that I found a older golden retriever at 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 90th Street last night about 10:30 p.m.
“I drive the neighborhood a little bit without success. A neighbor suggested I write to you.
“I also posted an alert on Nextdoor app.
“I will be taking him to a local vet to find out if he is chipped or not.”
“No, he isn’t chipped either. He is hanging out at Northeast Veterinary Hospital (35th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 95th Street).
“The vet clinic sent out a fax to all the area clinics. No word yet.
And this afternoon:
Beautiful Blue Budgie found. It is tagged and appears healthy (?).
Found Northeast 97th Street near 12th Avenue Northeast. Found this afternoon.

This evening I found this sweet, shy dog strolling along 12th Ave NE between NE 98th and NE 100th St. She has a collar but no tags.
After spending 90 minutes trying to find her home or someone looking for a lost dog in the neighborhood, I brought her to the emergency hospital on Lake City Way. Sadly she does not have a chip so we do not know where her home is.
Perhaps one of your readers will recognize her and we can reunite her with her people. We will keep her overnight but will need to bring her to a shelter if her people don’t come forward.

A neighbor emails this morning:
Is your dog missing? Found mini-Doberman wandering 12th Avenue Nnortheast, Maple Leaf, overnight June 17 – 18.
This male mini-Dobie with a purple UW Husky collar and rabies shot tag followed us — well, followed our pretty girl dog — along 12th Avenue Northeast last night/Wednesday June 17th between Northeast 100th and 105th streets.
It wandered off again as we reached home. When we woke up this morning, it was in our yard, so we caught it and put a leash on it.
And then, later this morning:
Reunited dog and man! Raves and kudos to North Seattle Vet Clinic for calling me back, and looking up the owner, tracing it through the rabies shot tag number.
Please remember to keep your dog’s Seattle animal license and rabies shots current plus a tag with your phone number as dog’s owner. This dog only had the rabies shot tag on its collar and no other identification. We got lucky and the vet clinic was able to reach the owner.
Thank you Maple Leaf neighbors!

Update 4 p.m. Black Lab Martha missing from Northeast 89th Street and 12th Avenue Northeast. Is chipped.
News of two dogs loose following this morning’s storm:
The NextDoor site that covers Maple Leaf and Northgate posted this:
After the thunderstorm this morning I saw a large black and white dog going down Northeast 85th Street from Fifth Avenue Northeast down towards Latona Street. If you or a neighbor are missing a large black and white dog – that is the direction he was headed.
And Susan emails: “We found an old yellow Lab walking along Northeast 115th Street close to 15th Avenue Northeast. No collar or microchip. Any way to post this?

Update: Annie is home.
James from Doggie Style found her and called just a bit ago. This is my plug for all dog owners in the ‘hood: show James some love by getting your pup groomed at Doggie Style! #customers4life.
Found black & white dog. Call 206-527-6174. Otherwise animal control coming in the morning – April 30th.
Separately, Jen emails that her dog is lost this morning:
Annie slipped out of our yard on Roosevelt Way Northeast and Northeast 103rd. She wasn’t feeling well and I don’t think she went far, but we can’t find her. She is a sweet, 13-year-old Australian Shepherd, but looks like a fluffy puppy (big front paws). She is blue merle, mostly salt and pepper, no tail. Again, super sweet and slightly deaf. She is chipped but not wearing a collar. Please call Jen 372-8397 if found or seen.

Bentley, who ran away from his Maple Leaf home on Dec. 8th and apparently lived in Thornton Creek for 13 days, was back home for Christmas, David emails overnight.
One Maple Leaf Life reader spotted him on Dec. 10th, near the Les Schwab tire store on Lake City Way, someone else saw him on Dec. 15th near Thornton Creek, and David saw Bentley on Dec. 19th. (Bentley belongs to his mother, Dorie, pictured above.)
“He’s running from everyone he sees, so we’ve put a safe, humane trap close to where he’s been staying,” David wrote then. “Hopefully, we’ll get him back tonight or tomorrow.”
It worked two days later.
We were finally able to locate his hideout, under the 15th Avenue Northeast bridge. Since he would run at the first sight of people, we placed a safe trap cage close to where he was sighted.
Though we had placed food inside, Bentley only approached the trap once we surrounded it with my mother’s clothes. Once he picked up her scent, he wouldn’t leave the vicinity! He has always been very devoted to her.
Sometime after midnight, early Friday morning, Bentley entered the cage and stepped on the trap. The door closed behind him, and several hours later, after 13 days on the run, he was reunited with my mom, his mom.
We are overjoyed to have our little guy home, and we are so thankful to everyone in the neighborhood who took the time to help us, especially Jeff and Brad who first saw him by the creek.

Robin writes overnight to say she and her husband found a lost dog about 8 p.m. at the corner of Eighth Avenue Northeast and Northeast 86th Street.
The dog is a (we believe) young very dark brown/black female pit bull with a slight white marking across her nose and white on her feet. She was wearing an army green studded collar with a City of Seattle license, but no info/name tag. She is an incredibly friendly, sweet doggie. We went door to door searching for her home or for anyone who could recognize her. Unfortunately, most people were not at home, and those who were did not know who she was.
They took the dog to ACCES – Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services – at 11536 Lake City Way N.E., where the vet could not find a microchip.
As Robin and her husband have cats, they left the dog at the vet. “Please, if you would, help pass on this info so we can try and get this sweet, sweet doggie back to her home.”
