Found: A bike helmet, bags – and a dog

October 8th, 2015 by Mike

DC emails: “On my way to the bus stop this morning I discovered the bike helmet and bags in the attached photo on Northeast 82nd Street between Brooklyn Avenue Northeast and 14th Avenue Northeast.

“The bags had been discarded in some bushes so I suspect thieves took what they wanted and got away on a stolen bike. Please share as appropriate.”

Also, on Wednesday Annie wrote:

“FOUND dog: Large male tan Goldendoodle (guess) found running down 23rd Avenue  Northeast, between northeast 115th & 117th streets.

“Possibly was running with a small terrier, but the terrier ran off. The doodle is microchipped to a vet in Maryland. Please share…..

“(They had an earlier sighting of the dogs in Maple Leaf.”)

Lost and found in Maple Leaf

March 23rd, 2015 by Mike

KL emails:

Hello MLL:

This morning my daughter and I managed to wrangle a black hen (I think ) from the roundabout of Northeast 90th Street and Eighth Avenue Northest to our backyard coop.

She’s full grown and seems pretty tame. Currently she’s finding her place among our hens and I’m more than happy to keep her safe here until someone claims her.

Please let me know if she’s yours and we can figure a time to come get her.

John emails: “Found small jewelry item in box 3/23/15 a.m. about 30 yards west of Cloud City Coffee on Northeast 88tth Street north side. Describe and claim.”

Found by the park – large radio-controlled airplane

May 3rd, 2014 by Mike

Josh emails early this afternoon:

I live just south of the Maple Leaf Reservoir Park, and on Wednesday, April 30, I found a large radio controlled airplane near my garage. I’m assuming the plane crash landed there, though it is not visibly damaged. I hope to return it to its owner.

To the editor: Can you help facilitate this?

August 18th, 2010 by Mike

This was posted overnight on the white board at Maple Leaf’s Dog Oasis, 12th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 89th Street.

It doesn’t seem to come with instructions for recovering the jack, though. Can anybody help?
