Tonight is the last time the smells of Greek cuisine will waft out of the building at 7919 Roosevelt Way N.E., and your last chance – for now – to taste that divine cooking.
Even though Divine closes up shop after dinner tonight, owner Vivian Peterson hopes it’s not going away for good, with plans to reopen elsewhere in Seattle in 2011. She told Maple Leaf Life last week:
“It’s been a great four years here, but I feel like I’m very limited to what we can do and we’re pretty isolated. I really want to be around other restaurants and I want to be open for lunch. This location does not really allow me to do that.”
The Seattle Times’ Nancy Leson also bids a fond farewell to Divine today, and includes the recipe for Vivian’s Divine Pastichio, which Peterson showcased recently at the Bite of Seattle.
Maple Leaf will miss Divine, but is looking forward to the neighborhood pub that is slated to replace it soon. Thanks for four yours of being our neighbor!
