Are you in the mood for a different kind of burger today but you don’t want to leave the neighborhood? Never fear, Skillet Street Food is on its way!
From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, the mobile street vendor is making a surprise stop at the Washington Dental Building, 9706 Fourth Ave. N.E., which is just south of Thornton Place.
The last time Skillet was in the neighborhood in March, EnduroDriver wrote:
Their food can’t be missed. They set up shop near my office from time to time and I’ve never been disappointed.
On the menu today is The Burger, made with grass-fed beef, arugula, bacon jam and cambozola on a soft macrina roll; Grilled Chicken Salad Chimichurri made with local greens, crème fraiche, coriander chickpeas and shallot confit; a Shrimp “Po’Boy” with romaine slaw, black pepper aioli, crispy capers and tomato; Poutine, hand cut and served with gravy, cheddar and herbs; as well as a Hazelnut Chocolate Cluster with sea salt for dessert; and Ginger Lemon Iced Tea to wash it all down.
If you make it there for lunch, let us know how it is and we’ll keep you posted on future visits from mobile vendors to the business area.
The burger was cooked perfectly and the roasted potato salad was a taste treat! No po’boy sandwiches or chicken salad, at least when we got there.
