Wild Root Salon & Spa on Roosevelt Way Northeast will be closing by mid-June.
Owner Donna Morton, who has been operating the site, at 8814 Roosevelt Way Northeast, since at least 2001, confirmed she is selling the building. (Disclosure: Donna has been cutting my hair since 2003.)
We’re waiting for further details. From Donna:
I moved from California to Washington in the year 2000, after starting my career with Aveda corporate with the goal of using my talents for both education as well as hair and spa services. I was excited to find the ideal space in the lovely neighborhood of Maple Leaf, where I rented the front lobby area of the current salon. After a short while, I expanded into the main floor of the building along with several employees that are still working for me to this day…..
After much thought, my family and I felt that it was necessary to focus my efforts into the Northgate location as we recently put the Maple Leaf property up for sale. I will share that this was an extremely difficult decision for me as my heart and soul are etched into the walls throughout the building. So with that said, we are reporting that all salon operations will commence at the Northgate location effective Tuesday June 14th.
If you have an existing appointment scheduled at Maple Leaf, your service will transfer over to Northgate.
Most recently, on the same block, the Maple Leaf Pharmacy closed in late October. There is still no replacement business for that space.
Up the street, Cafe Piccolo closed in April and has been replaced by Cucina Americana.
