Update 4:15 p.m.
Much of the area around Maple Leaf has lost power.

Incidentally, Cliff Mass says that as of 1 p.m., Seattle officially has its wettest winter ever.
Here at Maple Leaf Life South, a quarter-inch of rain has fallen since this morning, on top of .41 inches overnight and Leap Day.

The lights flickered at 2:09 p.m., then again, then darkness. Back, now.
Winds to 26 mph at 2:06 p.m.
Just because I was curious and looked it up, Zillow reports that this house was sold on February 1 for $1,365,000, about $650K above Zillow’s estimated value.
Hm that’s not too far from me. I wonder if all that electricity traveled through the lines and in to my place :/
Tim, the strike hit in the back yard of a house between 92nd and 94th on 8th.
Where was that? I was at work when this all went down?
Comcast said to bring the box in and swap it out. We’re just 200 feet from where the lightning struck.
Eileen, which quadrant of ML are you in? Maybe that’s why my TiVo stopped working…
Around the corner from the strike, electricity from the strike tripped a circuit breaker, caused our Comcast cable to go out, and created some problem with our TV…possibly the cable box. Collateral damage.
I was walking my dog when the strike hit only a few hundred feet from me (I was on the sidewalk in front of the neighboring house). It was terrifying! The ground shook, the flash was blindingly bright, and I could feel the electricity in the air. I also screamed instinctively, so in case any of the neighbors were wondering – that was me! Glad everyone is okay.
Was driving south past Northgate Library, saw that one hit, almost instant thunder then pelting rain immediately after. Quite a show.
