If you’re overdue for an annual mammogram screening, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Mobile Mammography Van is making it easier by bringing the service to you.
On Feb. 18, the van will make its monthly visit to Northgate Mall and is taking appointments for the 15-minute screenings throughout the day. The first appointment is at 8:30 a.m., and the last one will start at 4 p.m. The van will be located in the parking lot near Key Bank.
“It’s super convenient,” said Renee Collette, medical imaging outreach coordinator for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. “That’s the No. 1 reason why people use the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Mobile Mammography Van. We come to them.”
Collette says most insurance programs will cover an annual mammogram for women 40 and older, and that you can get more information on your specific plan by calling the customer service information on the back of your insurance card.
To make an appointment for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Mobile Mammography Van, call 288-7800 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and don’t forget to bring your insurance card and a picture ID.
If you can’t make this month’s appointment at Northgate, the van is scheduled to return March 18 and April 29. For the most recent schedule of locations throughout the region, click here (pdf).
