Update Thursday March 8: Note sure it adds much, but police this afternoon released this:
Detectives working an emphasis detail aimed at ending a series of recent pattern burglaries in north Seattle arrested a 21-year-old man during a break-in Wednesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old suspect broke into the victim’s car Tuesday night and stole an electronic garage door opener. He returned to the victim’s home the next day, used the electronic door opener to enter the garage, and tried to force his way into the home.
The homeowner, who was home at the time of the attempted break-in, yelled at the suspect, who fled.
Detectives arrested the suspect outside the home and booked him into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
Detectives continue to investigate the series of burglaries in the North Precinct and urge Seattle residents to be sure to lock doors and windows in their homes, and secure your car keys.

About a dozen times in recent days burglars have entered occupied homes in the north end, usually overnight while people were sleeping.
Now our news partners at The Seattle times say sources tell the paper an arrest was made in Shoreline this afternoon that could be connected with the burglaries here. Officers have created a task force to tackle the “Occupied Residential Burglary Pattern.”
FYI, people still need to be careful. Someone tried the doornknob at our house this evening just before 10pm. I was in another part of the house and assumed it was my wife coming home from a meeting. By the time I got to the door, the person was gone.
I called 911 to report it and the police were here very fast. (Kudos to SPD!)
The only reason I had the door locked is because of the SPD alert MLL had on this website (thank you).
So please continue to be careful out there. Lock your windows and doors in the evenings.

This clown was arrested for Burglary and Failure to Appear: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle 11/9/2011 and released 1/23/2012. I guess we better be prepared for another round of burglaries in a couple of months. Source: King County Jail Register.
The register is interesting reading.
First it was “some people that live somewhere on Roosevelt and have been in jail” now it an “alleged suspect” that “could be connected to recent burglaries in North Seattle”.
To quote Dan Rather “We used to say if a frog had side pockets, he’d carry a handgun.”
