Jill emails that her 3-year-old daughter is very worried about Mortimer, their cat missing now for more than 24 hours.
“He is one year old, but looks younger because he is quite small. His name is Mortimer and he is all black with a very tiny white patch at his throat. He is extremely friendly.
“We were gone over the weekend when he disappeared. I think it’s possible a friendly family in the area might have taken him in thinking him a stray kitten (or that he’s been accidentally locked in someone’s garage).
Mortimer is micro-chipped, but has lost his collar. He lives on Northeast 82nd Street, between Fifth and Eighth avenues northeast.
“If anyone has seen him in the last day or two, I’d love if they could email or call me – 206-778-5277.”
There was a notice posted on Roosevelt and 90th. I didn’t read all of it, but it mentioned something of a found black cat?
Hi Dawn – if you can email or call me that would be great – this is our cat!

We’ve seen a very friendly black cat hanging out on 90th the last few days. Don’t recall if it had a white spot or not. No collar. He was so friendly our two year old was playing with him. We have photo or two if you want we can email for a possible identification.
If you live in this area and had your garage open in the last few days, and not since, open it up and see if the cat is in there. Our neighbor’s cat was locked in our garage last summer for a couple of days and the ONLY reason we figured it out is we had a bucket of sand in the front of the garage that the cat used as a litter box. It happens, they are curious.
It’s clear from Roger’s comment that he has, at no point, done anything that could be judged negatively by others. He is, in fact, perfect.
Roger,
Who are you to judge. This family is sad because their cat is missing.
Why are so many pets in the neighborhood left to their own? Cats and dogs roaming the neighborhood lately? This is no responsible pet ownership and you are subjecting your pets and your neighbors to this with lack of care?
