Maple Leaf’s own Seattle Seedling blogger Stacy Brewer is taking her classes to the next level. This month, the organic gardener launched the Seattle Urban Farm School, where she will be “Helping gardeners grow, one lesson at a time.”
Upcoming classes include:
- Tons of Tomatoes
- Backyard Basics – Carrots
- Backyard Basics – Greens
- Backyard Basics – Beans and Peas
- The Strawberry Series
In the future, expect classes such as Lantern Love; Fall and Winter Gardening 101; and Crazy for Canning: Pickling 101. And if you’ve got ideas for future classes, Brewer is taking your suggestions.
For more information, go to Brewer’s Seattle Urban Farm School blog, where you can sign up for classes or for the e-newsletter.
How come I can’t comment on the article concerning the old Maple Leaf Grill (Schudies) property?
Dan Duffus is not a developer I would choose to have build adjacent to my house or in the area:

The direct personal attacks against Mr. Miller are low brow, and the poster should stick to factual arguments rather than venting in such a manner. Shame on you.
A moderator should edit those Mavid Diller screeds, but still allow constructive comment on the article.
Mr. Duffus exploits land use regulations for his financial gain at the long term expense of the community. 39 trash bins stored on the street sounds like exploitation to me.
Moderator: Please open comments on the original article, and move this post there.
