Update: Old Spaghetti House site gets a coffee shack

The Italian Spaghetti House & Pizzeria is still closed, but there’s life in its parking lot.

Our neighbors to the north-northeast, the Victory Heights Blog, caught this crew in action as a new Espresso stand went up at the old restaurant site at 9824 Lake City Way.

Headrush Coffee hopes to be open for business by June 1st said owner Zach Head, who will run the stand along with his brother. The free-standing building won’t need any plumbing and will tap electricity directly from the main power line.

The Victory Heights report is here.

  1. They should sell munchies to the people coming out of Greenside medical. Happy to have another coffee shop in the neighborhood and happy to have a business other than strip clubs and car dealerships on Lake City.

  2. Thank you, Ryan for clarifying…I thought maybe the news story left something out! I will now happily buy a coffee drink from them as it is only two or three minutes from my house.

  3. As the person who wrote the original story at the Victory Heights blog, I can answer this. This will have electric pumps to run the water in the sinks (just like in food trucks). Don’t worry, the Health Department isn’t going to let a business serve food without it being safe.

  4. This is good news! Seattle always needs just one more coffee shack;-)

But, I am puzzled…no plumbing? How do you get past the city permitting process and cleanliness issues? I would love to try this coffee shop out, but until the hygiene issue is explained, I think I will wait.
