Although crosswalks on Roosevelt Way Northeast appeared earlier this week at Northeast 90th and 92nd streets, it took crews a bit longer to reach Northeast 97th Street. Looks like they’ve made it.
So, has anybody used the new crosswalks yet? And what’s the verdict? Do you feel safer, or do you think it’s still going to take some time for drivers to notice the crosswalks?
Aw, thanks Mapleleafy! Yes, we do have small photos on the site, but we unfortunately don’t have the budget to include large photos because they take up too much space, which costs money. All you have to do is email us at tips@mapleleaf.com and we can email you a larger size!
Oh Anne – Really? The site is ‘Garbage’ because it does not work the way you want it to? These are our neighbors working to bring us the neighborhood news. Be neighborly and offer them some help if you have something to offer but don’t call their efforts garbage.
As for the crosswalks – AWESOME!
I’ve stood at the corner of 90th and Roosevelt and had to wait for 34 cars before they stopped for me (yes, I count, what else am I to do?). Yesterday, for the first time, I went to the corner and the first cars coming each direction stopped! I don’t think this will always happen, I do think the painted crosswalk had something to do with it. I like to think that anyway.
Other issues aside, it’s correct that several of our partner sites are experiencing server issues until the morning. – Mike (Maple Leaf Life)
Haven’t used the crosswalk and was kind of interested. Clicked on the picture assuming that I could see it bigger, that didn’t work. Your layout is garbage and I really hope you didn’t spend any money setting up any of these sites. WordPress themes aren’t hard to code, you would think that the “Geeky” Swedes would figure it out. Funny, try and load up myballard.com right now, the “Geeky” can’t even keep a site going.
I used the new crosswalk at 90th during rush hour to get to the bus stop. Cars now actually stop for me, rather than nearly running me over while crossing. I’m clearly a big fan of the new crosswalk.
