This morning might have started off a bit gray and chilly (at least in comparison to our scorching weekend), but summer weather has returned - just in time for a couple of visits from some of Maple Leaf’s favorite ice cream trucks.
Tonight and every other Wednesday night in August, Parfait Organic Artisan Ice Cream will be selling its made-from-scratch flavors from 5:30-8:30 from the parking lot of Blue Saucer, 9127 Roosevelt Way N.E., which will remain open while the ice cream truck is there.
But that’s only your first chance to get ice cream this week in Maple Leaf.
On Friday, there will be not one, but two mobile food vendors helping us celebrate summer right outside the Washington Dental Building, which is located south of Thornton Place at 9706 Fourth Ave. N.E.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the new Buns on Wheels truck is selling its gourmet natural burgers, which you’re invited to top off with a scoop of Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, whose truck (pictured above) also will be parked there for lunch from noon to 2 p.m. Friday.
