There’s still time to sign up for the neighborhood sale taking place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Blue Saucer, 9127 Roosevelt Way N.E.
Owner Billie Bryan says she’ll take reservations for a spot on the cafe’s parking lot, which will be closed to cars, until the shop closes on Saturday. “The more the merrier,” she said.
If you’re a better buyer than seller, you’ll want to stop by and check out the creations, collections, antiques and other oddities the 30-plus participating community members will be selling.
“I think we’re going to have a good mix this year,” Bryan said.
If you’re looking for some nearby fun on Saturday, our neighbors in Roosevelt, Wedgwood and Pinehurst all are holding annual festivities this weekend.
Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, the Roosevelt Neighborhood Bull Moose Festival kicks off with a pancake breakfast that will feature the Seafair Pirates in the gymnasium at Calvary Christian Assembly, 6801 Roosevelt Way N.E. And from there, the events just don’t stop, including a classic car, motorcycle and bicycle show; artisan booths; live music throughout the day; kids’ activities; and it’s all topped with a showing of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” from 9-11 p.m.
Meanwhile, the fifth annual Wedgwood Art Festival is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Hunter Farms Tree lot, at the corner of 35th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 80th Street. The lineup includes a day filled with activities, including a puppet show, music, a variety of food vendors, plus, of course, the myriad creations of more than 20 artists.
And the annual Pinehurstfest takes place from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Pinehurst Playfield, 12029 14th Ave. N.E., and will feature live music, children’s activities including a bouncy castle, a cake walk and more.

Ask the Ages performs from 2-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pinehurstfest.
The Seattle Public Library also has something to celebrate this weekend. The University branch, 5009 Roosevelt Way N.E., is celebrating its 100th anniversary from 1-3 p.m. Saturday with live piano music and fashion exhibits from the 1910s, including an interactive hat show from Goodwill that patrons can view and try on. There also will be children’s craft activities, refreshments and commemorative giveaways.
But before you plan any outings this weekend, don’t forget about the construction taking place the next two weekends on the ramps connecting Lake City Way with the Interstate 5 express lane ramps. Both the on and offramps to the express lanes will be closed (the mainline ramps will remain open) from 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, and the state Department of Transportation warns that it’s going to be noisy. If it’s too loud for you, industrial-strength earplugs are available for free by contacting Mike at 206-440-4699 or [email protected].
