Longtime Maple Leaf resident Greg Howard e-mails to say he’s quite interested in developments at the new Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. (Remember – the final design public meeting is Wednesday night.)
But Howard has another question: “Has there been any discussion with the city to allow tours of the underground reservoir once it is completed? I personally find the project quite fascinating and it seems like it would be a once- in-a- lifetime opportunity to see it before it is put in use.”
He adds that he’s spoken to someone who worked at the similar Capitol Hill reservoir and said it was quite impressive underneath.
We’ve asked Seattle Public Utilities if it would be possible to have a neighborhood tour of the project, and they’ve replied that they are looking into it.
I would love to take my kids through this.
I’d be up for that.
I think that’ would be kinda cool to see!
