The Meadowbrook Farmers Market is set to return for its second year. It will be open every Sunday, 11am to 3pm, starting June 6 and continuing through Oct. 31, once again at the Seattle Waldorf School Campus (2728 NE 100th St).
Meadowbrook is one of three farmers markets close to Maple Leaf. The other are the University District market, open year-round on Saturdays, and the Lake City market on Thursdays, which opens June 3. There’s been talk, though, of opening a Maple Leaf market in Thornton Place.
Featuring “local, farm-fresh produce and artisan goods,” the market was hugely popular last year and promises another great year. The market is a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a sustainable and healthy community and also offers educational opportunities for area youth.
To that end, you are invited to get involved. Market organizers are looking for:
–people interested in volunteering at the market
–a local school, teacher or youth organization that would like to get involved
–a student interested in demonstrating an agricultural or artisan skill or project
–a musician interested in performing at the market
