One of Maple Leaf’s main north-south arterials, the street that’s about to be partly shut down until next year, will lose a lane next week, Seattle’s Department of Transportation said today.
One southbound lane of 15th Avenue Northeast will be closed at several locations between Northeast 107th and Northeast 140th streets. The closures will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, May 10, to Wednesday, May 12.
Drivers should plan on congestion and allow extra time for their trips while this work is underway.
The reason is to install fiber optic cables in vaults alongside the road.
Beginning Monday, May 17, a stretch of the road just to the south will close until next February for repairs and improvements to the bridge over Thornton Creek.
