Looks like a go for the notion that this year’s 15th annual Maple Leaf Summer Social should, for the first time, include an outdoor movie.
Whatever movie is chosen will be shown in the ball field portion of the Maple Leaf Park. “Let’s go for it in the lower park,” said Marc Phillips at this week’s executive committee meeting of the Maple Leaf Community Council. Phillips is council president.
It will be a family movie, and be shown at the end of the social, which is held the last Wednesday in July beginning around 7 p.m. You might remember last summer’s social in part for being held on the hottest day in Seattle history.
Most other movie details are still undecided. Which is a great opportunity to have your say.
What movie would you like to see?
Do you want to help sponsor it?
Or do you think it’s a bad idea to hold an outdoor event that late in our neighborhood? (Sunset that night is around 9 p.m.)
How about The Parent Trap? or Grease?
Good call. We love the Goonies.
I can't wait for this summers Social! I think The Goonies would be a great family movie to show… It's a classic, filmed in the North West (Astoria, Oregon) and it's the 25th Anniversary this year.
