UPDATE: Sebastian (see comment below) has a first-person account and photos of the fire here.
Sebastian says he is the person who called 911 to report the fire. Then: “I have to admit that I was impressed by the response time. After I called, gave them the address, and hung up, the first fire truck showed up in about 90-120 seconds…. By the time the third fire truck had arrived, two police cars had closed off the street on both sides to traffic and the first truck had a guy with a hose spraying down the house.”
Thanks, Sebastian.

A fully involved house fire Thursday morning just outside Maple Leaf destroyed a home off Lake City Way Northeast.
No one was inside the small home, at 8540 23rd Ave. N.E., and it was believed to be unoccupied, said Fire Lt. Theron Dirette.
One firefighter said flames were leaping 30 feet high when crews arrived shortly after 5:30 a.m., but Dirette said the blaze was quickly knocked down.
The cause is not yet known. Fire investigators were at the scene.
Thanks to both of you. I've posted a link to Sebastian's photos. -M
Sorry Sebastian, you were far from the first person to call it in. I know because it was over 5 minutes after I called (and the told me it had already been called in) before I even heard the first engine. I live right across the street and the sound of the fire woke me up.
I was the guy that called the fire department this morning for the fire. It was crazy. The entire house was glowing, and then windows started to pop out and flames came out to the roof.I posted some pictures on my blog: http://www.sebbylite.com/2010/the-raging-inferno/
