Sewer problem solved?

Way back in early February, when Maple Leaf Life was new, one of our first posts was about this apparent sewer problem on 12th Avenue Northeast between 88th and 89th streets.

There was – and is – a sinkhole there, and after a heavy rain a green dye, apparently a tracer, bubbled up.

Well, on Monday an operations response team from Seattle Public Utilities appeared and did further investigation, and gave us a phone number to call for their report. Today the answer is: “They got it wrapped up. There’s nothing broken under the street at all.”

We’re told crews will soon arrive to fill in the sinkhole.

It still seems a little odd.

Oh, and City Light crews last week fixed the streetlamp just overhead.
