That’s a bulldozer. At chimney height.
A pretty astonishing sight, but one that’s become common during construction at the north end of the Maple Leaf reservoir.
The mountain of dirt that will eventually become the new Maple Leaf Park has for now boosted huge bulldozers and dump trucks to approximately the third-floor-bedroom level of the immediately adjacent homes.
Construction on the park is expected to continue for at least another two years. We’ve asked the city for more information on how long the mountain of dirt will be there.
In the meantime, we’d like to hear from those of you whose backyard – and bedroom – used to have a view of the water, not of a construction crew. What’s it like to be living on top of a demolition zone for months to come?
