Maple Leaf Life and two other new Next Door Media sites (MyWallingford and Wedgwood View) are now official editorial partners with the Seattle Times. The partnership involves news and information sharing along with collaboration on larger projects. In August 2009, the Times began partnering with select independent publishers including Next Door Media to enhance community coverage.

Digging out invasive blackberries at Thornton Creek. A work party from the Perkins School in Maple Leaf descended on Thornton Creek on Tuesday afternoon to remove invasive plants and replace them with natives. “The things you really want to look for is this invasive ivy,” teacher Colt Deese told the group of fourth and fifth graders.
