Did you just see the Boeing 747-8 being escorted by the fighter jet (flyover for Seafair)? What a sight over Northgate area!!
From my vantage point on Lake Washington, I was wondering just how close the giant plane came to Maple Leaf.

Right over Maple Leaf. Couldn’t figure out the timing, since it was after the Blue Angeles (if I remember correctly). Thought the Blues were the finale.
They were probably 400 to 500 feet up. Pretty cool. Surprising how big it was that close. Almost looked like it was going to drop out of the sky.
I saw this plane/fighter jet coming overhead from Everett while on my way to the Shoreline/Edmunds Costco. I could not believe how low it was flying, and at first thought it must be the new dreamliner, being sent out for a flyover. Nope, the livery on the tail clearly said “747”, as did the bump on her nose.
And this is different from the low flying jets that seem to be flying over Maple Leaf on a regular basis?
*angrily shakes his fist, tells planes to stay off his lawn*
It was incredible! No pictures, but I heard it from a distance and watched in amazement as it flew right over my head at an unbelievably low altitude. I’m guessing around 1500 feet?
