Sharp-eyed Maple Leaf Life reader Todd Nash sent us an email asking whether we knew why the windows at A New York Pizza Place, 8310 Fifth Ave. N.E., are covered up. Nobody answered when we called or knocked on the door, but the neighbors at Fine Impressions Gallery think they’re perhaps painting, but likely haven’t closed the pizzeria. Anybody out there know the story?
They are closed. The last night was Saturday December 4th. The lease was up and business was down.
Last weekend was sadly their last. We ate there Friday night and we shocked and saddened to hear the following night would be their last. We will miss them!

Yes, it’s closed. I think they will still be in there working on the wholesale pizza that goes out to grocery stores.
