Two cars stolen within blocks of one another this week are the latest of seven vehicles stolen in Maple Leaf during the first half of October.
According to police reports:
- One of two cars stolen near Northeast Northgate Way and Eighth Avenue Northeast was taken before dawn on Thursday, Oct. 14. The other was taken about 8 p.m. the previous evening, Wednesday Oct. 13.
- Another car was stolen on Tuesday evening, Oct. 12, from the 10000 block of First Avenue Northeast. A different car was previously stolen there on Oct. 6.
- Vehicles were “prowled” - broken into and items stolen - on Oct. 7 and Oct. 5, in the 500 block of Northeast 84th Street and and the 9000 block of 15th Avenue Northeast.
In addition, police report a home was burglarized Friday night, Oct. 8, just north of Maple Leaf. A woman living in the 11200 block of Roosevelt Way Northeast reported that a chest in her bedroom was pried open and several thousand dollars in jewelry and cash stolen.
