THIS JUST IN: Robbie e-mailed us this morning to say his car was broken into last night, Thursday Sept. 16. “They stole quarters and a GPS unit. The car was parked in my driveway near 86th and 15th Ave NE. It had to have happened between 12:30 am and 6:00 am.”
The police blotter has continued growing since we posted on the end-of-summer crime spree in Maple Leaf. Police more recently reported: Burglars broke into a home in the 800 block of Northeast 89th Street and stole medications and a bottle of rum. This occurred sometime between Friday, Sept. 10, and Monday, Sept. 12.
- A vehicle was stolen about 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, from the 500 block of Northeast 103rd Street. Another was stolen shortly after midnight on Monday, Sept. 13, from the 400 block of Northeast 80th Street.
- Two cars were broken into and items stolen. One occurred on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the 300 block of Northeast Northgate Way; the other on Friday, Sept. 10, in the 9400 block of First Avenue Northeast.
Plus, a neighbor e-mailed us on Thursday about an apparent Peeping Tom. No police report has shown up yet on this, but here’s her report:
Two days ago a neighbor came to our house to let us know that a man was looking in one of their back windows the night before (about 10pm) He climbed the fence into a neighboring yard, and police were called but they couldn’t find him. The description I was given: black male between 25-30 years old and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. This occurred in the 9200 block of 15th Ave. NE.
Today my husband told a woman he works with who also lives in the neighborhood about the incident, and she said that she saw a man fitting that description last night at around 9:30 pm and that he was walking fast like he was trying to get away from something.
Any readers know of other spottings or crime?
