Recent crimes in Maple Leaf

The good news: Crime seems to have largely taken a vacation here during the first week of August, as can be seen on the city’s crime map.

The bad news: A house and a car were broken into on Northeast 88th Street.

Both occurred on Sunday Aug. 1. Few details are available yet from the city’s police website, but the burglary was in the 2000 block and the car prowl in the 2700 block.

(Those icons on the map that look like raised hands are shopliftings. The car icon in the top right is another car prowl, in the 10700 block of 23rd Avenue Northeast, on Thursday, July 29th.)
