Spring sports season has returned to Seattle, which means the special shuttle service from the Northgate Transit Center to SoDo games also has returned.
King County Metro Transit is offering the service starting this weekend with the 7:30 p.m. match Saturday between the Seattle Sounders FC and New York. The service will be available only on weekend Sounders games (shuttle schedule here).
The shuttles will begin picking up fans two hours before Sounders games, and the last will leave 45 minutes prior to kickoff. After the game, shuttles will leave as soon as they are full, and the last one will depart 30 minutes after the end of the game.
The special shuttles also will be available to weekend Mariners games, as well as post-game for weeknight games, starting with the end of the 7 p.m. game Tuesday, April 13 (shuttle schedule here).
The shuttles to Mariners games will begin picking up passengers two hours and 40 minutes before start time, and the last buses will leave Safeco Field 20 minutes after each game ends.
The shuttles cost $5 each way; passes, ORCA cards, tickets and transfers are not accepted.
In addition to the Northgate lot, service also will be provided from the park-and-rides at South Kirkland and Eastgate, with special train service from South King County for weekend day games.
