Return of the snow? Possibly not.

January 9th, 2017 by Mike

Well, The New York Times appears to be worried.

This image arrived by email this afternoon.

Dear Times Subscriber,

We make every effort to assure prompt delivery of your newspaper, regardless of challenging weather conditions.

But if we’re unable to prevent a significant delay, you can receive a timely alert, including an estimate of when to expect your paper.

There IS snow in the forecast for Maple Leaf, specifically between 4-10 a.m. Tuesday. Up to 1.5 inches.

However, Scott Sistek isn’t so worried.

The KOMO forecaster this afternoon posted:

“So again to recap: The farther south you are in our region, the better chance you have of getting some snow Tuesday morning. Seattle may see snow but not get much to stick. North of Seattle, snow is not seen as a factor.”

A basement fire here overnight; snow Thursday eve

December 7th, 2016 by Mike

Firefighters doused a blaze in the basement of a house in the 9200 block of 17th Avenue Northeast.

It was under control by 5 a.m. There were no injuries.

The Seattle Times has a story here.

Current thinking on Thursday’s anticipated snow is it won’t get here until evening, probably after the commute. The National Weather Service in Seattle is forecasting 1-3 inches locally, turning to rain before Friday morning.
