Two neighborhood cats disappeared on Sunday.
Xris tells Nextdoor Northgate/Maple Leaf: “Mr. Smudge disappeared Sunday evening from Northeast 80th Street and Fourth Avenue Northeast. He is an indoor cat, shy and a little skittish. My mother in law has dementia and Mr. Smudge is one of the few things she remembers from day to day
“If you see him, call me on 206-255-3665.”
And Michael emails this morning:
“Smokey, a long, lean, older male cat, mostly light gray with white and cream markings and white socks has been missing since Sunday, July 19.
“Last seen in the area of Northeast 107th Street and 14th Avenue Northeast, just north of Thornton Creek. If you’ve seen him, please let us know. Contact: Michael at email@example.com. Thank you. – Michael McCarthy”
A third cat – Franklin – went missing Monday but was found under a deck by evening.

Amy emails this afternoon:
Someone in the neighborhood suggested I send my info to Maple Leaf Life about our missing cat. I’m heartbroken, so I’m hoping you’ll be able to post a blurb. The info is below and pictures are attached. Thank you!
We’re out of town and our cat ran away from home, Northeast 98th Street between Roosevelt and Eighth avenues northeast, on Thursday. His name is Macchiato (Macchi for short). He has medium length black and white fur and weighs about 10lbs.
He’s probably pretty freaked out, since he’s never been outside for more than five minutes at a time. If you spot him please let me know ASAP! My number is 314-223-7781.
He’ likely going to be hard to catch. Any help is appreciated, we feel so helpless since we’re not able to be there looking for him ourselves.

Maegan just emailed us a photo of Buckwheat, missing since at least New Year’s Eve from her home at Northeast 89th Street and 15th Avenue Northeast.
“She is an 8-month old black long-haired kitty. She does not really respond to her name “Buckwheat. If there is anyway you can help us reach more people by sharing this information on your blog, I would so SO appreciate it!”

Update 5:30 p.m.: Freddy is home!
Kasey emails overnight:
Hi Maple Leaf neighbors ~ I am hoping for your help in finding my kitty, Freddy. Freddy was last seen Saturday morning September 15th. He lives near Roosevelt and 96th.
Freddy is very shy and hesitant, so I am hoping for any “sightings” to send me his direction. He is micro chipped. Many of you have already been on the look out and I sure appreciate it, so does Freddy.
Note: We first posted about Freddy in September.

Update Oct. 10: Maud has come home (see comment) but now Shawna emails:
“Hi. We have had this cat come and go from our house for the last couple of weeks. Hoping to find its home! Please let us know if this is your kitty. Thanks!!”
She lives near Northeast 92nd Street and Eighth Avenue Northeast.
Jessica emails this morning:
“My cat Maud is missing. She is a big female domestic short-haired gray tabby/orange calico mixed cat around seven years old. From afar she looks light gray.”
Maud has been missing since Monday. She lives on Northeast 95th Street between
12th and 15th avenues northeast.
“She’s micro-chipped, but not showing up in any system. She doesn’t have a collar (she knows how to take them off!). She is also very vocal. She is a sweet cat but a bit wary of strangers.
“If you see her or if you find her would you give me a call at 206-234-2788 or 206-517-2962.
“I’m a regular reader and have seen other pets found because of you guys and so I’m really hopeful that this will find her!”
