Seattle Police report a fight just north of Northgate Mall ended with a truck set on fire and at least one arrest.

In addition to the police press release, our news partner The Seattle Times has a story with map here.

Police said that the suspect, a man in his 20s, was arguing with the vehicle’s owner, a 28-year old man, over a woman who was part of their group. The suspect pulled a gun, poured a flammable substance into the truck, and set it on fire. The incident occurred in the 11300 block of Corliss Avenue North.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m.

  1. The lives alot of these people (parent and child) have lived are unimaginable to anyone who would leave comments like some of those left above. If we all head a level playing ground from birth it would be different, but.unfortunately we don’t. That’s why its up to those who have ( education, $$, loving families, support systems, ect) to help those who have not. With great reward comes great responsibility.

I met the young man who’s car was lit on fire. After hearing his story there was no doubt in my mind that he made some bad life decisions but he was now homeless, scared, lonely and had losing his dignity more and more with every passing night he slept under the freeway. I’m no saint myself but I took 10minutes to acknowledge him, listen to him and have a cheeseburger with him. It may not be anything huge but its a start.

I challenge those who live in maple leaf to take it upon themselves to make our community and city a better place. Get-er-done, you can do it!

  2. Bob, I fear these people are breeding like crazy and passing on their stupidity genes. 45% of all childbirths in the US today are paid for by Medicaid. Which means that 45% of kids are born to people who can’t afford to feed them. I say let’s abolish Medicaid and let them fend for themselves.

  3. Neither does the MLCC.

Not really sure what this has to do with Maple Leaf; it happened 2/3 a mile outside the neighborhood’s boundaries–nowhere near the mall and on the other side of I-5

  4. Pull and gun and light a truck on fire right near the mall?

Where do these clowns come from? I would love to sit down with this person and try to have them explain their background and thought process.

This is the type of person that I truly hope, for the sake of all of us, doesn’t breed and spread his stupidity gene.
