Finding public art in Maple Leaf

There’s some unlikely public art in our neighborhood, though it takes a little looking to find it.

Our news partner The Seattle Times has a story today, with an interactive map citywide.

Art in Maple Leaf includes:

* The gazebo in the Maple Leaf park playground.

* Buoys in the swale at Thornton Place.

* Glass art at the Northgate Branch of The Seattle Public Library.

  1. There are also the vertical stained glass & colored tile murals attached to the fence posts of Maple Leaf Playground along Roosevelt Ave. Quite pretty when the setting sun strikes them.
