More animal news…Chris emails:

“The chicken captured in the attached photo has been scratching around Northeast 91st Street between Roosevelt Way Northeast and 12th Avenue Northeast. She’s fun to watch, but she looks a little skinny and I don’t think she has a safe spot to bed at night. Please let me know if you have received a report of a lost red chicken and/or post to MLL.

  1. They definitely tend to get lost this time of year as they hop fences looking for a good, sneaky place to nest and then can’t find their way back. If you don’t get an owner claiming her, the Seattle Animal Shelter will take her in and find a safe forever home for her as a pet. Good luck, chickie.

  2. Hi Neighbors,
I have this chicken in a coop in our backyard now thanks to some other Maple Leaf neighbors who caught her. She seems to be doing well and laid an egg as soon as we put her in the coop. If this is your hen, please call me at 206-799-9664.
