In addition to Saturday’s community-wide Maple Leaf Garage Sale, Blue Saucer is bringing a new tradition to Maple Leaf with a “Pop-Up Open Market” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19.

So far owner Billie Bryan has secured 20 vendors who will be selling “crafts, collectibles, junque and more,” including:

  • Art
  • Jewelry
  • Repurposed items
  • Clothing
  • Posters
  • Handbags
  • Hats
  • Papercrafts
  • Candles
  • Soaps
  • Knits
  • Handspun yarns

“We’re so excited about the fantastic response!” Bryan tells us.

There also will be live music from Mark Juan playing Spanish guitar, and from Highball Whistle, a three-piece girls’ string band.

Bryan adds that although she’s full on many vendors, she’s still on the lookout for more “pantry” items such as jams, jellies and pickles. For more information, stop by the cafe at 9127 Roosevelt Way N.E. or email Bryan at bluesaucer@gmail.com.

As for the rest of you, we’ll see you at the Pop-Up Market!

  1. Awesome! I wish I could participate, but I’m scheduled to be making my candy in my rental kitchen (The Wandering Cafe) that day. I hope this is a big success!
