Snappy Dragon a readers' favorite

We’d overlooked this kudo in the annual Seattle Weekly “best of” awards, but it’s hard to miss the sign outside Judy Fu’s Snappy Dragon.

It was readers of the Weekly that brought the Snappy, at 8917 Roosevelt Way N.E., the reward.

A full list of readers’ choices is here. Note that Ace Hardware was named “best hardware store,” no specific location given. And that Wine World Warehouse, just down Interstate 5 in Wallingford, gets the nod for best wine store.

  1. @Pete – my husband loves Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy but we had a hard time finding it last summer after he discovered it. If you know where I can find it, please let me know!

  2. Chiang’s Gourmet does not do delivery. I’d recommend you dine-in the first time. They have two menus; one more traditional Chinese, and one for, well, let’s just say it: for Caucasions. I’ve eaten off both and enjoyed both.

@David – Was in the other day looking for Leininkugel’s Summer Shandy. I know wine is the main product, but if you stock Leinie’s, it’ll sell.

  3. Chiang’s sounds interesting. We used to order delivery from Seven Seas but we all know what happened to them. I wonder Chiang’s delivers.

  4. Thanks for mentioning Wine World Warehouse. We are delighted that the Seattle Weekly readers chose us.

@Pete glad to hear that you love us at Wine World, let us know if there is anything we can do to improve for you. We are really trying to make it your Wine World

  5. I loved Snappy Dragon years ago, the last two times haven’t seemed quite up to par. I have yet to hit Chiang’s and drive by it all the time, with all this praise I’ll have to try it!

  6. I’ll add another vote for Chiang’s. After trying both multiple times, Judy Fu’s quite frankly can be hit or miss. Our first experience was so bad, we didn’t go back for 2 years. Chiang’s Gourmet is the real deal, delivering every time. The decor may not be fancy and the service is frantic. The food shines though.

BTW, it’s Wine World WH. Not World Wine. Love that place too!

  7. No doubt! Snappy isn’t even close to being in the same league as Chiang’s. In fact I can easily name four Seattle Chinese restaurants that outpace Snappy by far.

  8. Each to their own. I personally think Chiang’s Gourmet blows them away. I tried Snappy again after abondoning them for a long time and sure enough, they still can’t hold a candle to Chiang’s.
