Melissa Plourd, the owner of The Hive Social Club at 9220 Roosevelt Way N.E., is more than just a hostess for princess tea parties. She’s also a professional face painter who has a unique opportunity tonight for the community.
From 6-9 tonight, she and other members of the Western Washington Face Painters are having a “jam night” at The Hive where they will be brainstorming and practicing new ideas together, and they’re looking for a few volunteers who are in need of a little face paint. Both children and adults are invited to drop by The Hive if they’d like to have their face painted for free. Plourd writes:
We just like to practice together in an environment free from stress and also to give back to the community.
If you’d like to see some examples of Plourd’s work, take a look at her website, Happy Go Lucky Face Painting. And anybody who gets their face painted tonight is urged to send us a photo for us to post in the morning!
