A free recycling event – including electronics like VCRs, television sets and computers – is being hosted in Maple Leaf on Sunday afternoon.
Sponsored by the Washington Association of Churches, the event is being hosted by Olympia View Community Church, 425 N.E. 95th St. Trucks in the church parking lot will accept recyclables Sunday, Oct. 24, from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
The event includes free recycling of many items that are typically hard or expensive to dispose of, as well as environmentally damaging in landfills. All items will be evaluated by 1 Green Planet for re-use and recycling.
If it has a plug – we’ll take it!
If it contains metal – we’ll take it!
Even car batteries and computer batteries.
Also accepted are medical equipment, ink and toner cartridges and lawn mowers (please first empty gas and oil).
Donations to support the work of the Washington Association of Churches will be accepted but are not required.
