The annual Northgate Festival features a new location this year, closing a portion of 103rd Avenue Northeast between Northgate Mall and the new Thornton Place for a street fair.
The fair, which will continue up into the plaza at Thornton Place, is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, after all the summer festivals have finished, but while the weather is still great (maybe), says the Northgate Chamber of Commerce.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy live main stage entertainment (we actually encourage some impromptu dancing on the plaza). Jazz, rock ‘n’roll, country and more will be featured throughout the day.
The fair also boasts artists, commercial and non-profit booths, a classic Ford Mustang car show, a children’s plaza with bouncy toys and cotton candy and a family entertainment stage featuring local dance schools, karate demonstrations and children’s acts.
Another special feature this year will be the Northwest Hospital and Medical Center Health Fair. The center is celebrating 50 years in the community.
